Letter Portfolios

I made these this weekend to celebrate the warmer weather here in Chicago. When it starts to get nice outside, I try to move as many of my activities to the porch or park as possible. This necessitated that I have a roving stationery case. Being a craft engineer helps when you have a problem like that.

My final design ended up with decorative flaps holding the stationery papers secure, a pocket for holding envelopes or postcards or what-have-you and a little envelope for keeping stamps. I also created a paper button and string closure for it, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I made a whole bunch [i.e. about 6] and I've put up some on my Etsy shop if anyone else needs some on-the-go stationery fix.

New Studio

Last Friday, Dillon and I put up another set of Ikea shelves. We had some set up in the studio previously, but they were completely full and I tend to do all of my work in the kitchen because the table there is big and flat. So we set up some more in the kitchen and now I have almost all of my stuff in a central location. Unfortunately, my paper organizer is still in the studio as it was too big for the shelves, but I make lots fewer trips now. Now I just need an economical way to store my flat papers and my space will be complete!

I saw a squirrel. It was making like this "tchtchtchtchtch".

I always have big plans for my weekends and I generally get about half done, which I am ok with. The half done of this weekend was this doggie.
